Jenny Steel has been a freelance natural history and gardening writer for more than 25 years.  As well as writing books on Wildlife Gardening she has written for a large number of national and regional magazines and newspapers including Organic Gardening Magazine, The Kitchen Garden, BBC Countryfile Magazine, BBC Easy Gardening, BBC Gardens Illustrated, The Countryman Magazine, Spaces Magazine, New Consumer Magazine, The Ecologist, Country and Border Life, Limited Edition Magazine, The Daily Express, The Oxford Times and the Oxford Mail and The Guardian Online.

In addition to contributing to magazines and newspapers, Jenny has written material for the websites, newsletters and catalogues of many companies, organisations and charities including Natural England, Growing Native, Notcutt's Garden Centres, the garden bird food companies Haiths and Ernest Charles, Atropos - the journal for butterfly, moth and dragonfly enthusiasts - and the conservation gardening company Habitat Aid. She was an author for the Complete Gardens CD-ROM and has also contributed to the magazines of several of the UK Wildlife Trusts and the magazine of the charity Butterfly Conservation. Jenny is a Director of the Garden Bird Food Company Just Add Birds and has written all the bird feeding information on their website as well as the Garden Bird descriptions.
